We are very happy to discuss your design ideas before they are fully formulated. Getting a design right at the outset can save thousands of pounds over the life of a product. Injection moulding techniques may dictate slight product design changes or improvements. Talking through the design requirements with our Toolmakers can help ensure that all your conditions are met. We can advise on inserts or polymer options. Masterbatch can be used to colour parts as required - please see the colour wheel on the links page. 121 Masterbatches are stocked in house for pigmenting a wide range of coloured mouldings.
Our Tool Design Department is fully computerised. We can read your drawing and model files in the majority of formats such as IGES (Initial Graphics Exchange Specification), STEP, AutoCAD DWG, Catia, AutoCAD, DXF, STL (Standard Tessellation Language), VDA, ProE, Rhino 3D Models, Solid Works Files, and eDrawing Files. In house software used is Rhino (Version 4) and OneCNCXR2.
Alternatively we are equally able to work from traditional drawings, sketches and models.
Our particular field of expertise is in project development. Following the production of a prototype tool, sampling may suggest that the design could be improved. Alumec 89 tooling plate can be easily modified to further improve the finished product. We have both a Tool and Mould Shop on one site which further aids sampling and product development.
